Gift Guide: The Planner
As you know, Jen is a super planner extraordinaire. In fact, she derives nearly as much pleasure from planning her trips as she does actually going on them. (I'm happy to PayPal her all my money and go along for the ride.) Do you have a friend like Jen? Here are some gifts to buy him or her this season, selected by Jen and narrated by me. (Dammit, now I can't get her any of these as a belated Hanukkah gift...)

1. Luxe City Guides Box Set, Net-A-Porter $60
I'm forever a Lonely Planet fan, but they books don't always fit so well in a bag or pocket. These Luxe City Guides would fit perfectly, and plus they're so cute! London, Milan, New York, Paris, and Sydney...hmmm...the only one left on my list to visit is Sydney. Would it be terrible to use possessing this set as an excuse to book a trip down under?
2. Expedition Field Notes Pack, Need Supply $10
This set of three notebooks is perfect for journaling en route or doodling while you sip coffee at a sidewalk cafe. Plus, the paper is waterproof, which is great if you're a mess like me and regularly drown everything you're carrying in your bag.
3. NY Times 36 Hours Guide Book, Taschen $39.99
Whenever I see the NY Times books, I really just want to buy them. This one features 125 weekend trips throughout Europe -- a perfect jumping off point for the planner who is planning a trip on limited time.
4. Monocle Travel Guide, Need Supply $15
The Monocle Travel Guide series promises to help you travel like a local, rather than a tourist. Great for the planner who is into uncovering hidden gems and exploring a city off the beaten path.
5. Scratch Travel Journal, Uncommon Goods $28.95
"Combining the functionality of a travel planner, a checklist, a diary, an international translator, and an interactive map, this journal is the ultimate travel companion." Um, I think Jen just did a happy dance.
6. 2016 Coffee & Tea Calendar, Brit&Co. $18
All I can say about this is...I WANT IT.
