Chicago: #TBT A Windy City Wedding
A few summers ago, two of my best friends, Emily and Scott, married each other in Chicago. I grew up with Scott and became friends with Em in high school, and by the time we graduated, they were BFGF like OMG. Over 10 years later, they got married in Chicago, where they had attended grad school at Northwestern.
They're both basically the coolest people I know, and their whole wedding was more or less DIY. Not DIY in a Pinterest-y way. But DIY in an every-basic-bitch-on-Pinterest-would-eat-their-hearts-out way.
It was my first time in Chicago and due to wedding activities, I didn't get to do a ton of sightseeing but I fell in love with the city (even though friendly Midwesterners creep me out). Rhi and I did an architecture boat tour, we hit the beach, and Em made sure we sampled all the best Chicago cuisine -- deep dish pizza, crazy hot dogs, and everything in between. I visited Chicago this past October for Em's 30th birthday, but given that I had pneumonia, I really feel like a third trip to Chi-Town is in order so I can finally see the city.
Because really, what could be better than a major metropolitan city with its OWN BEACH? It's like everything I could ever dream of (again, with the exception of the overly friendly Midwesterners).
