Canada: #TBT Québec City
If Montréal lacked a European feel that Jen and I were expecting, then Québec City made up for it in droves. I've been to a lot of charming places in the world, and I really can't think of any more charming than QC. Old QC looks like it's straight out of a storybook.
Pair the gorgeous, quaint architecture with amazing public art (stay tuned for a post on that), unbelievably delicious comfort food (and another post on THAT), and some of the friendliest people around, and it was downright magical, for lack of a better word.
The Château Frontenac, an unparalleled hotel, is the heart of Old QC. It's always been a hotel, but it looks like a friggin' castle, looming over the steep hills along the St. Lawrence River. Although the city looks like the setting for an old-school fairytale, the trail of contemporary art installations, Passages Insolites, was delightfully quirky and modern. Throw in a kickass ghost tour, a free Cirque du Soleil-type outdoor show, and some delicious cheese, and we basically never wanted to leave.
Have a TBT look around beautiful Québec City!
