The Playlist: A Spoonful of Jetlag?
Well my other half is in the Happiest Place on Earth right now.
Lucky her. No really. LUCKY HER. I'm SO jealous. Look at her amazing photos! Disney World is truly a perfect place (except, I suppose, when children are getting bitten by snakes and people are having heart attacks on thrill rides).
Of course, what this means is she'll be in the swingiest of swing states on Doomsday Election Day tomorrow.
While the rest of us brace ourselves for the dumpster fire that is tomorrow, I hope Jen will be ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the celebration of diversity in "It's a Small World." I for one have a Xanax and a glass of wine at the ready. Don't judge me.
While we all can't be in the Disney bubble forgetting the rest of the world and its problems, I figured we could try to simulate our carefree childhoods with a throwback Disney mix. Instead of a playlist full of ruined Mouseketeers, I'm kicking it back to the songs of "The Little Mermaid," "Beauty and the Beast," "Aladdin" and more -- the songs that permeated our youth. Let's all engage in a little passive escapism while we hope for the best.
I know it's a paltry attempt at coping in the face of a possible orange Stalin regime. But hey, if it fails, you could always pair it with some Xanax and wine, amirite?
