All Over: Prime Day Wishlist
So I guess everyone is completely losing their shit over Pokemon, which to be honest, makes zero sense to me. It makes even less sense to me than Snapchat, which at least gives me an outlet for posting endless cat pictures and not receiving scrutiny for doing it too much on Instagram or Facebook.
Personally, I'm stoked beyond belief for my first Amazon Prime Day tomorrow. It's like Black Friday of the Interwebz! I sucked it up and got a Prime membership a few weeks ago, mostly to support my running snack habit without having to go into actual running stores. I'll admit I held out for a while; as a member of the publishing industry, this basically makes me a traitor because Amazon is the devil as far as publishers are concerned.
But you know...discounts! Free two-day shipping! More shit to stream and binge watch! #Sorrynotsorry, publishing.
So while I'm hoping to see lots of snacks and workout gear on sale tomorrow, I thought it might also be sweet if they put some travel swag on sale too. Dear Amazon, here are five things I think you should discount for those of us who would rather spend our money on travel itself than the things we need to bring along with us:
Herban Essentials Towelettes -- Mixed (Currently $16)
Jen always has these with her when we travel, and they smell fucking delightful. They come in lemon, lime, lavender, and now orange. In my opinion, they are better than the mini bottles of antibacterial hand gel that I tend to carry around. I always end up using too much gel and then I feel like the alcohol scent is searing the insides of my sinuses. Plus, they can leak, which is a giant pain in the ass. No problem with these single-use hand wipes.
Travel Organizers Packing Cubes (Currently $13.89)
Packing cubes are something else Jen found. When we went to Paris and Barcelona on our first trip together, she had them, and I was instantly envious of how organized her suitcase looked compared to mine. I got mine for my next trip which was to Japan, and they are great for making it so you don't overpack and also keeping things neat. I like that this set includes a laundry pouch for keeping dirty clothes separate. I don't have that in my set, and if I'm being honest, by the end of the trip I usually just get disgusting and throw everything in together unfolded, dirty clothes touching clean because if I'm going home, then I've probably decided life sucks anyway and I may as well do ALL THE LAUNDRY.
Travelrest Ultimate Pillow Travel (Currently $29.95)
If there's one thing I like more than eating my way around the world, it's sleeping while I'm en route to my next destination. I currently have one of those horseshoe-shaped travel pillows that goes around your neck, and it's pretty bomb-ass with memory foam inside and a super soft plush outer covering, but this pillow intrigues me, especially since when traveling, I tend to fall asleep with my head on my shoulder. Of course, I don't look like this serene bitch, with perfect makeup and a tiny smile on my face. Rather, my makeup is probably smudged and my mouth half open with drool coming out of the corner.
Lonely Planet's Ultimate Travel: Our List of the 500 Best Places to See...Ranked (Currently $16.99)
I LOVE Lonely Planet books, and I'd be rull interested to see how they rank the 500 best places. And then I'd like to use this book as a checklist and visit them all.
Squeeze Pod Sh*t Shower Shave Travel Toiletry Kit, 18 Piece (Currently $12.99)
OK, I'll admit it. I clicked on this because of "Shit, Shower, Shave. I'm an adult, I know. But actually this set is brilliant. The pods include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, moisturizer, shaving cream, hair gel, AND toilet odor eliminator, which is great if you're traveling with a lactard who loves cheese (not that I know anyone like that...). Everything is all-natural, and the company boasts that the pods are leak-proof, and if it DOES leak, they send you a new pod free. Pretty sweet deal.
And honestly, speaking of deals, even if this stuff doesn't go on sale tomorrow, these are some pretty great travel items.
What travel goods will you be Priming tomorrow?
