The Packing List: Deep Creek Lake
This coming weekend my boyfriend and I are going to Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland to spend a long weekend with some old friends of his. I've never been to Deep Creek but by all accounts it is gorgeous and lovely and nature-y. It is also cold AF.
Apparently skiing, snowboarding, and other winter sports abound, so I may just make my second go at skiing. Or maybe it is time for a snowboarding debut. That said, the weather is supposed to be somewhat mild this weekend (highs in the lower 50s), and I can't say I would be opposed to a little aprés ski action without, you know, the ski part.
So in my bag I'll be bringing everything warm, soft, and cozy. I hear #hygge goes well with rosé. Naturally, I don't have actual ski clothes, so I'll be bringing some base layer pants and a pair of waterproof pants to double up. Soft sweaters and Smartwool socks for lounging around the VRBO round out the packing list along with warm, waterproof Sperry boots for exploring Deep Creek. Here's hoping the cell service is scant. I could use a break from the world for a bit. So am I missing anything essential for a winter bubble weekend?
