NYC: Mid-Hudson Valley Weekend
As you know, tomorrow I'll be heading upstate to a wedding in the mid-Hudson Valley region. Last year I went to a wedding in a similar location and had the chance to finally see Dia:Beacon. This time around, I'll be forgoing the art in favor of the outdoors and drinking. If you find yourself in the area and are looking for things to do, here are a few suggestions:

Yard Owl Brewery
Craft brewery with tours and an outdoor seating area? Yes, please! There's also a cafe for some delicious food + beer pairings.

Tuthill House at the Mill
This award-winning distillery and restaurant located in a former flour mill (hence the name) has everything from a visitor center with local crafts to a small waterfall in front.

Mohonk Preserve
Depending on how hot the weather gets, we might go for a hike. This preserve has cliffs, forests, fields, ponds, and streams galore.

Minnewaska State Park Preserve
Need more waterfalls in your life? Head to Minnewaska State Park! Besides the falls, there are stunning cliffside views and plenty of uncrowded trails.

Walkway Over the Hudson
If you're not afraid of heights, check out the walkway on this 1889 railroad bridge. Until recently, it was the longest footbridge in THE WORLD! It connects the Dutchess Rail Trail on the Poughkeepsie side and the Hudson Valley Rail Trail on the Highland side if you want to add more to your walk.

Vanderbilt Mansion
This former home of Frederick William Vanderbilt is now a historic museum and National Landmark. The 54-room mansion is one of the oldest estates in the area. Besides tours, there are frequent concerts held on the lawn and even high tea ceremonies (for some reason).
Any major sites I'm missing?
