NYC

Looking for things to do in NYC this holiday season that don’t include holiday windows and mindless shopping? Well look no further -- the Jetlag Hags are here to help!

Bierra

Lest you think rooftop bars are only for the summer, Eataly’s rooftop bar, Bierra, is open year round and turns into a winter wonderland during the colder months.

Drinks there can be pricey and seats are hard to come by, but if you find yourself in the Flatiron area, treat yo’self!

Choose Love Pop-Up Shop

Tired of spending money on crap no one needs? Visit the Choose Love pop-up. It’s the world’s first store where you can look at sample gifts for refugees, like tents, phone chargers, rafts, sleeping bags, and clothes. Instead of taking the items home, each purchase you make sends that item to someone who needs it.

Dyker Heights Lights

Like Baltimore, NYC has a neighborhood where residents take Christmas decorations very seriously. It’s a little out of the way in deep Brooklyn, but it’s worth the drive or subway ride. Afterward, you can get yourself some hot pot in Sunset Park!

Bryant Park Winter Village

There are about a billion holiday markets in NYC now, but the Bryant Park one is a true classic. Between the ice skating rink, the opera caroling, and the holiday shops, it’s got everything your holiday heart desires. It’s up through January 2, so you can get some good after-Christmas sales!

Nutcracker Rouge

Tired of your standard Nutcracker ballet? Try this instead. It’s a visual feast in a cabaret setting featuring baroque burlesque dance, music, circus, opera, high fashion, and sumptuous design.

As they say on their site, “enjoy a libation as you immerse yourself in a hedonistic display of gorgeous and decadent winter entertainment in this thrillingly unique fusion of nightlife and theatre.”

What will you be up to this holiday season?
