The Menu: Dallas
A couple of weeks ago, I was down in Dallas to celebrate two lovely people, Cat and Andrew.
Such love.
Not only did their marriage provide me with a super fun reunion of sorts, but it also brought me to a true culinary city. Though we were only in town for two and a half days, we managed to fit in tacos, pie, local brews, and of course a butt load of BBQ. I attempted to relive my Dallas visit from a couple of years ago by squeezing five days into two. I think I managed OK.
And an excuse to get dolled up!
Upon landing, our first stop was to the neighborhood of Deep Ellum. It’s home to the famous Pecan Lodge, Emporium Pies, and Revolver Taco. We, of course, hit up all of them.

The next day we headed out to the Bishop Arts District to get some brunch. We hit up Oddfellows, but were sadly unable to get a table. Instead we went down the block to Tillman’s Roadhouse, where we stuffed our faces with chicken fried steak, waffles shaped like Texas, and bloody Marys. We also popped into Tribal All Day Cafe for some iced coffee and homemade pop tarts and into Bishop Cider for some local brews. YUM.

That night we went back north (relatively speaking) to dance our butts off, eat more BBQ and taste some beautiful-ass (and delicious) cake.
Not gonna lie, that next morning was ROUGH. Like, need-to-stuff-my-face-with-fried-food-but-also-want-to-vomit rough. That’s where Norma’s came in. It was the last stop on our food tour before leaving for the airport. While we were too rushed for me to grab photos of the food, trust me when I say that it was just as delicious as I remembered.

Between the wedding, the drinks, and the food, I seriously had the best long weekend I’ve had in a long time. Thanks to Cat and Andrew for bringing the MICA crew all together!
