Vegas: #TBT MTV VMAs
I'm not huge on gambling, but in 2007, I visited Sin City... for a work trip. Granted, my job was to do live graphics for the MTV VMAs, so as far as work trips go, it was pretty bad ass. My impressions of Vegas are that it's a less-fun New Orleans. Everything is really spread out, and if you don't like gambling, strippers, or expensive food, you really shouldn't be there. I guess there are some big shows there now, but nothing that would be worth dragging my ass out there for. Especially with all the great entertainment NYC has to offer.
My experience was unique and something I'll never forget, but mainly because I was at the freakin VMAs. The one where Britney lost her mind no less. Also I was 21, so drinking and gambling legally was a pretty big deal.
Everything about that trip was cool. Between the amazing food, free live concerts, celeb sightings and after parties, I had a great time. Not to mention seeing the man behind the "moon man." I got to see "old Vegas" and all the newest clurrbs. It was a bonding experience with co-workers and an eye-opening experience in live TV production. Based on my aversion to gambling and strippers, I wouldn't bet on me returning to Vegas anytime soon, but you never know!
