Florida: Epcot

If there was ever a Hashtag Jetlag-themed Disney World park, it would be Epcot (well...minus the non-PG language). Epcot stands for "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow), which kind of sounds like some crazy cult-like shit, but it's fairly benign -- all dedicated to technological advancements (not that HTJL)...and different countries around the world (very HTJL)!

I have to admit, when I was there in 2012, the half of the park called "Future World" is a bit more like the future as they saw it in the 1970s, but it's still pretty great and includes Spaceship Earth, which is the ride inside the giant golfball. It takes you back to the beginning of time to the future as we see it now -- very Neil deGrasse Tyson (<3).

And then the World Showcase is the part of the park that surrounds a lake. Countries include Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, USA, Japan, Morocco, France, UK, and Canada. It's light on the rides, but here's the best part about Epcot -- every October, they have a food and wine festival! As you can see below, even four years ago when I had my first iPhone, I was already snapping pictures of the word "cheese."

If you go to Disney World, I highly recommend going in October. It's a little less crowded, it's a lot cooler, and they celebrate Halloween all month long. But really, the food and wine festival is the best part. All along the lake there are kiosks selling different representative bites from each country's cuisine. And not just the countries I mentioned above -- all the countries you can think of. Belgian waffles, Swedish meatballs, Italian pasta...need I say more?

Pro tip: I don't remember what country it was, but if you see a raspberry wine on the menu, don't get it. It tastes like Manischewitz, and *I* could give you that for free. Woof.
