NYC: Memorial Day 2016
This year (like most) I spent Memorial Day soaking in too many rays and consuming too many cocktails on my friends' boat in the Liberty Landing Marina. Unlike last year, I had to make the trip from Brooklyn, which is long to begin with, but even worse with "weekend schedule" subways. (Note to self: Never leave Brooklyn on the weekends.)
Although the weather threatened some sort of tropical storm, we managed to avoid the rain and celebrate outside with spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline to our east and the Statue of Liberty to our south. It really doesn't get more patriotic than drinking a local craft beer and eating Steve's Key Lime Pie in the shadow of Lady Liberty, does it?
Check out my snaps from this year's celebration! And, as always, thanks to the amazing men and women who serve!
